Growing from strength to strength, WNSP with funding support from our partners in the U.S., is creating
an enabling environment for the rural communities to eliminate poverty through village microcredit
strategies.

Using WNSP VSLAs approach, many rural communities are able to develop a culture of saving and to gain access to credit for investment and to improve their livelihoods.

In many instances, groups have evolved from micro-lending institutions to investment groups where members undertake a collective investment or collaboratively marketing their commodities to gain higher prices.

Here is a village meeting at Oyam town council where training occurs for setting up and organizing a VSLA. Group commitments are established, the drafting of a VSLA group constitution takes place, book keeping procedures are taught and group leadership is chosen.
