“ I am so grateful to WNSP and mama Mary for her open heart to support others.”
– Catekeren
Catekeren Laswai is a Masai from Tazania, she is a Director of OKIA (Our Kids In Africa) an organization which supports and trains adolescent youth on nutrition and health. Her first visit to Uganda was 5 years ago. This is what she said about that visit and her ongoing relationship with WNSP:
“My first visit to Uganda I searched on the internet for the people who make reusable sanitary pads and I found WNSP. So, I contacted them and mama Mary invited me to Uganda and that is how I started making reusable sanitary pads and making liquid soap. I went back to Tanzania and I started making reusable sanitary pads and training all my organization staff on how to make these with a sewing machine. Now OKIA supplies sanitary reusable pads to schools through the support of the government and outside supporters
Our relationship with mama Mary has continued and every year I come to Uganda to train during the home builders conference on nutrition, balanced meals to support child care and overall health. This has improved OKIA’s activities and roles in the communities we support. I am so grateful to WNSP and mama Mary for her open heart to support others.
