Thanks to the timely response from WNSP, I was able to not miss the planting season

-Josephine

Josephine a group member of Nen-Anyim said women in Northern Uganda face a lot of challenges and responsibilities raging from social economic, education, domestic violence and sexual assaults.

When the issue of COVID-19 came I faced a lot of problems with the lack of food and income to take care of the family. Our group was doing well before the lockdown with ‘Kitchen Gardening’ and VSLA (‘Village Saving and Loan Association’) but when the COVID 19 lockdown was enforced in March of 2020, the group stopped saving, businesses stopped and the group members had no access to seeds for planting because they’re only sold in Lira city.

Josephine said life became so hard during and after lockdown, because I couldn’t do my business and almost missed the season for planting this year. Thanks to WNSP, they were able to bring the seeds immediately as the lockdown was eased.

I know this kitchen garden will help me improve my household income and nutrition this year as we are starting to harvest at a time when most people don’t have nutritional crops.
